Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi enters Premier League record book as his goal ranks 4th – Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi has entered the record book of the Premier League.
This is as the player’s strike that helped Everton beat Newcastle 1-0 at Goodison Park in the 2021/2022 season has been ranked as the 4th latest winning goal ever scored in the history of the English top flight.
Iwobi’s goal was timed at 98.20 minutes.
Iwobi’s goal is only behind those of Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski’s winning strike (99.53 minute) against Newcastle in September; Manchester United’s
Bruno Fernandes’ (99.45 minute) for Manchester United against Brighton in the 2020/2021 season; Sheffield United’s Oliver Norwood’s strike (99.17 minute) strike in their 2-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers in November 2023
That particular goal scored by Iwobi helped Everton escape relegation in the 2021/2022 season.
