Advantages of the Nigeria Artificial Intelligence Research Scheme

The scheme offers a funding opportunity of up to N5,000,000 to support 45 accomplished AI researchers or start-ups in various sectors including agriculture, finance, healthcare, education and workforce, governance, sustainability, and utility.

Qualification Requirements for the Nigeria Artificial Intelligence Research Scheme

To be eligible for the Nigeria Artificial Intelligence Research Scheme, applicants must meet the following conditions:

• The consortium must include a start-up or technology company, a Nigerian academic researcher, or a foreign researcher.

• A research proposal that aligns with the AI priority areas of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy is required.

• The applicant must provide a detailed proposal that outlines the project and its potential impact on the Nigerian economy.

• A demonstrable track record of excellence in research or entrepreneurship is necessary.

• The applicant must be able to publish at least one peer-reviewed article within one year of receiving the grant.
