9 Corps Members Benefits From Youth For Export Program YEP – As participants at the Nigerian Export Trade House China Far East, nine NYSC Corps Members benefited from the Youth for Export Programme, receiving 900 dollars. Zeenab Foods Limited made the presentation today in Abuja at the opening of the Youth For Export Programme (YEP), a Nigerian Export Promotion Council effort to promote youth inclusion in non-oil export.

Brigadier General YD Ahmed, Director General of National Youth Service Corps, emphasized the Scheme’s readiness to maintain robust cooperation with relevant stakeholders for technical and financing support to Corps entrepreneurs in his goodwill message at the launch.

He stated that the Scheme’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development program would continue to
capitalize on any initiative aimed at empowering Corps Members.

While thanking NEPC and Zeenab Foods for recognizing NYSC as a significant stakeholder in the Youth Export Trade, the DG assured them of a more favorable
environment for Corps Members’ empowerment.

“It is our firm belief that in providing training, mentoring and networking opportunities for the youths as envisioned in the YEP initiative, they will be active drivers of our economic growth and especially, play
roles in boosting our foreign exchange earnings.” he declared.

Earlier in his remarks, Dr Ezra Yakusak, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, stated that the YEP project was
developed to address critical limitations that impede active youth engagement in non-oil exports.

“The programme is designed to empower young Nigerians by providing them with necessary skills and knowledge to engage in export activities.” he stated.

The distribution of three $300 cheques to three sets of Corps beneficiaries by a representative of Zeenab Foods Limited was the highlight of the occasion. At the event, a new Nigerian Exporters Hub, dubbed “NEXHUB,” was introduced to function as a dynamic electronic and digital platform that connects exporters
and importers.
